The Aggravation of COVID-19 Comorbidities
July 28, 2021
By Dr. Barefoot Sidy Diallo
People are paying, both medically and financially, a high price for the irrational aggravation of COVID-19 comorbidities. The figures: 978 COVID patients were hospitalized in intensive care in France on July 27, 2021, i.e. 246% more than on July 27, 2020. Why?
The virus has not taken a summer break, but it’s still less virulent during the hot temperatures. This is therefore the time to stop the risk factors (physical inactivity, tobacco, alcohol, excess food, etc.) of COVID-19 comorbidities in order to live healthier lives, strengthen our immune systems and defeat the virus. Otherwise winter will likely be another story.
On July 27, 2020, when there was no vaccine against COVID-19 and the French had been living quite freely for several weeks, only 398 COVID patients were hospitalized in intensive care in France. A year later, although 61.2% of French people have already been fully or partially vaccinated against the pandemic, several million French people have developed natural immunity by contracting the coronavirus and unvaccinated people continue to suffer in France draconian restrictions on their fundamental freedoms, 978 COVID patients were hospitalized in intensive care.
In short, people should understand that by aggravating the comorbidities of COVID-19, we make ourselves even more vulnerable to any existing or future variant. And that’s what too many people keep sadly doing...
