The 2023 Bermuda Triangle Challenge
I did in three days in Bermuda—the top vertex of the world most famous triangle—a private marathon and the three races of the 2023 Bermuda Triangle Challenge: a one-mile run, a 10 km run and a marathon.
Excerpts from Wikipedia: “The Bermuda Triangle is a legend focused on a loosely defined region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean where a number of aircraft and ships are said to have disappeared under mysterious circumstances...”
I arrived in Bermuda on Thursday evening, January 12. On Friday the 13th, I started in the morning the Bermuda Mermaid Marathon to combine sightseeing with long-distance running to stay fit and healthy, and conveniently stretch my legs after the 7-hour flight from London.
In the evening I participated in the Bermuda Triangle Challenge One Mile Run. I did the Bermuda Triangle Challenge 10 km Run on Saturday and the Bermuda Marathon on Sunday. I got one triangle medal for each race and a fourth triangle medal for completing the challenge. I won two awards of the third place of the men 60 to 69 age group in both the marathon and the Bermuda Triangle Challenge.
Marathon Finisher at the Three Vertices of the Bermuda Triangle
I’ve completed a marathon at the three vertices of the Bermuda Triangle: Miami, San Juan (Puerto Rico) and Bermuda. I did the 2012 and 2020 Miami Marathon, the 2016 San Juan Harbor Marathon and the 2023 Bermuda Marathon.
My visit to Bermuda was announced by the news website Bernews: “Bermuda Is 100th Country for Barefoot Runner,” and the newspaper The Royal Gazette: “French diplomat, medical doctor, and barefoot runner Sidy Diallo will mark off his 100th country.”
