The Barefoot Marathon Globetrotter
By Dr. Barefoot Sidy Diallo
I have done marathons or ultramarathons--mostly barefoot—in 105 countries to promote around the world the fitness and health benefits of running.
Those who wonder how to finance so many trips, might consider two effective and widely accessible ways to save a lot of money: reverting pragmatically to neo-paleolithic lifestyle, and financial awareness when dealing with individuals or businesses who maximize their profits by exploiting the asymmetrical information and humans’ gullibility.
I've completed at least one marathon and one ultramarathon on each of the 7 continents: Antarctica, Africa, North America, South America, Asia, Europe and Oceania. I've run over 400 marathons and ultramathons with the unique purpose to stay fit and healthy, and promote around the world the fitness and health benefits of long-distance running.
I’ve completed between two and tens of marathons or ultramarathons in each of the following 30 countries: Antarctica, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Netherlands, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, Chile, England, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Norway, Panama, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, Vietnam and the United States.
My book Running Barefoot for Human Survival is available on Amazon in paperback and e-book format (French edition: Courir pieds nus pour sauver les humains).
Below is my interactive global marathons map. It features most of the marathons (orange icons) and ultramarathons (blue icons) I did on the seven continents. Zoom in to discover all the races, as many icons are overlapping.
