I did in Havana, Cuba, my 92nd marathon and placed first in my age group: ¡Hasta la victoria siempre!
I spent most of the 1970s in Cuba, where I got my first college degree (doctor of medicine) in 1980. I did my first marathon 30 years later in Chicago. It was therefore my great pleasure to visit the island again, do there my second marathon in Latin America, place first in my age group and enjoy the lovely gala dinner in a paladar, especially the unexpected romantic moment when the staff and guests turned on the lights of the mobile phones because of a power outage.
