Planet of the Masked Apes

After nearly 200 millennia of wise, lucid, smart and fairly healthy existence, Homo sapiens has stupidly “evolved” into Homo comorbidus.
The physical and mental comorbidization of Homo sapiens—driven by the frantic quest of wealth and domination—started around 10,000 years ago after the invention of agriculture and the domestication of some animals in Mesopotamia.
It remained a very slow process, though, until the 1970s when the pandemic of comorbidities (overweight, obesity, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes, chronic respiratory diseases, dozens of cancers, kidney failure, Alzheimer’s disease, other dementia, depression, loss of physical abilities, etc.) gained an unprecedented momentum and triggered the acceleration of global warming. You’ll find further below some slides presenting the link between calorie consumption and obesity, and the correlation between obesity prevalence and global warming.
It may be helpful to know that Homo sapiens and all previous human species are part of the family of great apes, known as hominids, which means that—whether we feel proud, honored, disgusted or shamed about it—we’re great apes. What’s more, we share 98.8% of our DNA with chimps, making them our closest relatives. In other words, beside bipedalism, 1.2% of our DNA is what differentiates us from the chimps.
Welcome to the planet of the blindly masked apes!
Understanding and accepting our true nature, including our hunter-gatherer heritage, is the only way to stop and possibly reverse the comorbidization of Homo sapiens. Unfortunately, the flipside of our slim genetic advantage has turned us into the stupidest and most brutal animal species, killing each other by millions in bestial wars, developing crippling comorbidities, decimating other animal species, depleting the natural resources, fueling global warming and blindly heading to our untimely extinction, while claiming to save the planet that is over four billion years old and will survive us for billions of years. Chimps are undeniably humbler and more peaceful. They live in harmony with nature and apparently know much better about soberness, physical activity, etc.
On the contrary, instead of doing the right thing to stay fit and heathy through long-distance running, soberness and self-restraint on food and other unnecessary or toxic consumption, comorbid individuals keep seeking help and advice from those who are making big money thanks to their diseases. And when pills, shots, diets, etc., don’t bring the expected results, the patients resort to more quantities or other remedies, and some of them even to surgery to remove a large part of their innocent stomach as a treatment for obesity. They’re unable or unwilling to understand that their mouth—not the stomach—is the problem.
What’s more, Homo comorbidus proudly and unapologetically claims that the comorbidities are “diseases of civilization,” while we should rather call them “diseases of gluttony, laziness, etc.,” since most of them are preventable through a healthy lifestyle and physical activity. And like young children across the globe who enjoy covering only their face or eyes with their hands to make themselves “invisible,” comorbid or healthy individuals are—everywhere on the planet—childishly hiding behind both virtual and physical masks and feeling safe. By doing so, some of them keep increasing their body mass index or aggravating other comorbidities, and therefore further compromising their immune systems. In other words, they worsen their vulnerability to Covid-19 and other infections, while they should do the opposite.
Meanwhile, the physical mask has become the first globalized and the most cherished and reassuring gris-gris, while obesity and the loss of physical or mental abilities due to the comorbidities are among the most visible medical signs of the comorbidization of Homo sapiens. Obesity is also the most frequent Covid-19 comorbidity, often in association with other comorbidities such as type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. Sadly, many “civilized” humans, including star chefs and medical doctors, keep gaining weight and becoming increasingly obese. And they blame anything (poverty, genes, misfortune, stress, depression, Covid, their appetite, etc.) or anyone for their condition, except themselves and their mouth through which all their body fat entered.
Poverty is undeniably one of the most ridiculous “excuses” for obesity, because while poverty can result in undernutrition, only wealthy people can afford to spend enough money on excessive and unnecessary food to develop obesity. Moreover, some obese people also spend a lot of money on alcohol, tobacco, diets, so-called appetite suppressants, etc., instead of just cutting their calorie consumption. And they significantly increase by the way their negative impact on global warming and the depletion of natural resources. Folks, this is how far humans have “evolved.” Four-legged apes and other free animals don’t develop obesity, not because they are not “civilized,” but because—like our “uncivilized” ancestors--they don’t take in more calories than they burn. Sadly, what was an easy equation for Homo sapiens, has become a very tough one for Homo comorbidus.
Since healthy, lucid and wary individuals would ruin many health professionals and providers and other businesses, and hamper the plans of power-hungry politicians, all these people keep doing everything they can to aggravate the comorbidization of Homo sapiens and correlatively increase their revenues or power, by exploiting humans’ incredible gullibility. And they’re very successfully, to say the least.
Finally, it might be worth taking a few minutes and make good use of our small genetic advantage—barely 1.2%—that differentiates humans from chimps to reflect on the following two paragraphs:
1. We boast for many decades the best health professionals and equipment in human history, yet the number of comorbid patients keeps quickly growing by the day, so much so that the World Health Organization (WHO) pointed out, for instance, that “worldwide obesity nearly tripled” between 1975 and 2016, and that, in 2016, over 650 million adults and more than 124 million children and adolescents were obese. When we end up with billions of obese and comorbid patients, where are we going to find the healthy people and the required muscles to take care of them?
2. The first time Europe became the epicenter of the Covid-19 pandemic was in March 2020, when there was no vaccine and masks were a scarce commodity. Twenty months later, the World Health Organization declared in November 2021 that Europe had become again the epicenter of the Covid-19 pandemic, although most of the European countries are boasting very high Covid-19 vaccination rates, and Europeans are very obedient regarding mask wearing, hand washing, social distancing, etc. Ironically, even the fully vaccinated French prime minister, whose government had imposed so absurd and tough Covid restrictions in France that a German newspaper labeled the country “Authoritarian Absurdistan,” contracted the Covid-19 in November 2021. So what went wrong in the European combat against the pandemic, particularly in France, whose president solemnly declared “the war” against the coronavirus on March 16, 2020?
My book Running Barefoot for Human Survival thoroughly explains how we ended up comorbidizing our species and how we can become genuine Homo sapiens again, by making good use of our brain so that we prevent the comorbidities and we stay fit and healthy with a strong immune system to defeat pandemics. All we need is to adapt humbly and wisely our lifestyle to our biology, and by the way save money on food and toxic or unnecessary consumption, and significantly reduce both our impact on global warming and the depletion of natural resources. We will then enjoy a much better quality of life and prevent the untimely extinction of our species.
