I don’t run, I fly!
When it’s about the rational goal of staying fit and healthy, doing a marathon is—regardless of where and how—running or walking 42.2 km (26.2 miles).
I started with the Macan Half Marathon (la Media Maratón Macan 2024) in the Gando Air Base located on the east coast of Gran Canaria, a Spanish paradise island off the coast of Africa. I participated in the event with my wife Gisele Diallo. We walked afterwards 3 km to the bus station. Then we headed south by bus to the resort’s area of Playa del Inglés where I did the rest of the distance.
The motto of the Macan Half Marathon as printed on the back of the official t-shirt is: No corro ¡Vuelo! —English: I don’t run, I fly! The cut-off was accordingly just 2 hours and 30 minutes. I did it in 2:10:18.
