I did my 506th marathon in the Chevreuse Valley—a heavily wooded area southwest of Paris. I set off in Montigny-le-Bretonneux and headed to the Madeleine Castle in Chevreuse, where I turned around. Other landmarks on my course included the Noës Pond (l’Étang des Noës) and the Port-Royal des Champs Abbey. The Noës Pond is part of the hydraulic system that supplied the park of the Palace of Versailles for three centuries until 1977.
